JOB DESCRIPTION

Jenkins Group is seeking a proactive and organized Sales Assistant to support our lead sales representative (Jerrold Jenkins – Founder/CEO) in managing and growing client relationships. This role is perfect for someone who's excited by modern sales strategy, including pipeline building, automated outreach, and personalized follow-ups across multiple channels. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Utilizing the CRM system to track and follow up on old leads.
  2. Facilitate ongoing follow-up through the entire sales cycle for new and existing prospects.
  3. Sending physical/electronic book samples and marketing collateral at the request of the lead salesperson.
  4. Maintaining up-to-date records on lead status and pending deals.
  5. Reconnecting with past clients to explore opportunities for follow-on work.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience with CRM tools. This role is essential to ensuring smooth sales operations and supporting business development efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Join a lead sales representative in an initial qualifying and needs analysis call (phone or video)
  • Document in CRM key potential project details, including budget, scope, timeline, decision makers, and additional information needed as part of the next steps
  • Send additional material (eg. sample books, informational PDFs, etc.) because of the initial call and ongoing prospect needs
  • Follow up with past prospects to determine status in the sales life cycle – (hot, warm, cold, no longer interested, etc.) and update lead status based on responses
  • Develop lists of follow-up calls and a schedule for the lead sales representative (Jerrold Jenkins) to gather customer feedback and systematically ask for referrals
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to define and build an efficient sales pipeline management using modern tools and automation
  • Keep CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce) data clean and up to date, tracking lead status and opportunity stages

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using CRM systems and sales automation tools
  • Excellent communication skills across email, phone, and social platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Interest in publishing or creative industries; previous experience in book sales or marketing a plus
